The combination of all the moving parts in a steam turbine is called the rotor.A combination of a turbine's rotating parts, such as the main shaft, impeller or drum, moving blade and coupling.The role of the rotor is to withstand the rotary force of steam on all the working blades, and drive the generator rotor, main oil pump and speed regulator rotation.
The high and high pressure rotors are machined with solid alloy steel forgings with high creep fracture strength.A separate short shaft is connected at the high pressure end with a thrust plate, main oil pump impeller and overspeed trip device.The low-pressure rotor is also machined from solid alloy steel forgings with high tensile strength, providing excellent ductility.
